Mercedes Benz W108
The W108 and W109 Chassis Mercedes Benz vehicles are the last truly hand-built S-Class Mercedes vehicles(aside from some current AMG models). After the W108, production was moved from a team,
responsible for the entire vehicle from inception to the final touches, to an assembly line for efficiency.
This allowed Mercedes to produce more vehicles in the same amount of time. The 108 and 109 vehicles were also
the last vehicles with the classic “Mercedes look” – stacked headlamps curvy bonnet lines,
and a very large statesman like front grille. To this day, many people can still recognise a 108 or a 109’s lines as distinctively Mercedes.
In the 60's and 70's the W108 was the transport of choice for diplomats, politicians and anyone who wanted to make an imposing statement when they arrive. The build quality is was exceptional for its time and even today the solid 'clunk' of the doors and the smooth Mercedes ride make the W108 stand out from the crowd.
The Mercedes is a car for those who want people to remember how they arrived. More typical wedding cars can fade into the background and almost go unnoticed or if they are too vulgar they are remembered for the wrong reasons.
Some how the Mercedes manages to be both classy and classless making its passengers feel special without going overboard.
The classic Mercedes W108 makes a unique and unusual wedding carriage making that special day a real classic to remember.
